Local Green Biz Spotlight: One World Zero Waste

In my efforts to leave a smaller footprint and live more sustainably, I found the One World Zero Waste store. Its Tequesta location is far from ideal for me since I live in Delray, but the product selection and foods are ideal. Just what I was looking for! I bring my own reusable glass jars to fill, but they offer glass jars for a small additional fee.

The store carries an eclectic collection of reusable kitchen, health, and beauty items, and organic staple foods. Some favorite products I have picked up include reusable towels (instead of paper towels) and bamboo eating utensils I keep in the car for food-on-the-go times (no more taking single use plastic). I’ve adjusted to using their bamboo toothbrushes and the organic fill-your-own jar toothpaste is unique.

The organic food staples I usually get are quinoa, rice, beans, pastas, a great variety of teas (lots of coffees available, too), honey, dried fruits and snacks, nuts, several spices, and herbs. They have weekly fresh produce and boxes which must be ordered ahead online and picked up on Monday. There is a selection of pickled vegetables, milks, fresh bakery, and free range eggs. These products are from local organic farms. And, last but not least, the store makes up meal kits and baking products. My favorites are the Mac’N Cheese one that I supplement to make a complete dinner. I also love their dark chocolate chip cookies kit. Yum!

Store location is: 354 S Congress Dr. #1, Tequesta 33469. It is close to US 1. The location is good for folks in the northeastern part of our huge county. My compromise with the distance is I only go once every 3 or 4 months, but I go prepared and stock up. I make a day of it and invite a friend to join me. We either pick up tasty food to go or pack sandwiches for a beach picnic.
