Member contributions to Turtle Tracks, the monthly newsletter of the Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group, are welcome and appreciated.
Do you love your garden of native Florida plants? Take some photos and tell us all about it. Been to a great outdoor spot lately? Share it with others. Read a good environmental book lately? Write a review for us. Have you taken a photo in the outdoors you’re really proud of? This is your chance to show it off.
Here are the submission guidelines. If you have any questions, contact Ron Haines (ronaldhaines@bellsouth.net).
TURTLE TRACKS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The deadline is the 20th of the month preceding the issue date, which is the first of every month.
Send documents and photos to Ron Haines at the address above. Make sure the subject line of your email says “Turtle Tracks” and includes a description of your article. Attach everything, text, photos, graphics, to the same email. DO NOT embed your photos into text documents.
Expectations: Your submission must be readable and accurate. Maximum length is 300 words. You must provide a suggested headline and please check EVERYTHING for accuracy before submission. Full, complete and correct URL’s are required for any links. Remember that this is a Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group publication. Any policy positions or opinions taken in your submission must be in accord with Sierra Club policy. If you have any questions about that please contact the Group Chair.
All Text: Should be in the form of a plain text or Word document. No fancy formatting is necessary or desired. All text gets unformatted before it gets rebuilt in the Marketing Cloud software used to compose the Turtle Tracks email.
Photos and Graphics: Can be .jpg, .jpeg, or .png. Maximum length or width should be 500 pixels. We can crop, reformat and resize photos if you need assistance. Please provide a caption. You must explain how we have the legal right to use your graphic in Turtle Tracks. (Did you take the photo and thus own the copyright? Do you have the OK of the person who did? Etc.)
We appreciate the time and creative effort that go into writing articles. Double-checking all of the above before sending it on to the editing staff of Turtle Tracks is greatly appreciated.
