Senator's storm comments cloudy at best

Two days after Hurricane Helene, Republican Sen. Rick Scott offered assistance and support in times of hardship and distress. After offering condolences, he said, 'You're going to have to build higher. ... We just have to understand we're having way more storm surge, for whatever reason. You don't know why we are having more storm surge. ... We never seen storm surge like this before.' This from the former governor who wouldn't allow the words 'global warming' used in his presence.

I guess Florida residents should be loading up their 401(k)s with companies that make stilts. Scott's answer to global warming is to build everything on stilts? We all, Independents, Republicans and Democrats, need to solve the right question: How can we reverse global warming? Let's try reducing carbon emissions. It will be hard but easier than rebuilding everything along our coastline on stilts.
