If you are concerned about the proposed Crystal Spring development and the destruction of 40 acres of priority forest near Forest Drive and Spa Road, now is your chance to take action!

The development at Crystal Spring will be larger than the Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole, and will be very damaging to our environment.  Developers plan to destroy about 40 acres of the last remaining large area of mature forest in the city – and plan to replace that forest with 500 housing units, a large shopping center, a grocery store, and a hotel.  This development plan will be devastating to our environment, cause extensive stormwater runoff issues, further reduce air and water quality, and destroy important animal habitat.

The Anne Arundel Group of the Sierra Club has been working to prevent this destructive and dangerous development.  Our partner, Stop Crystal Spring, has launched a new petition drive urging Mayor Mike Pantelides to keep his campaign promise, and stop the development at Crystal Spring.  Please visit www.stopcrystalspring.org and sign the petition to voice your opposition to this project.
