Our Goals :

  • Support and promote the Maryland Chapter Sierra Club Mission and motto

  • Preserve and protect the native ecosystems of the Lower Eastern Shore

  • Safeguard and improve soil, air, and water quality of the Lower Eastern Shore

  • Promote environmental and social justice for all people of the Lower Eastern Shore

  • Educate citizens about their connections to nature.

  • Demonstrate environmentally friendly actions available to citizens

 

Objectives for 2024 are to advocate and educate for:

  • The reduction of the use of plastics.

  • A just and equitable transition from a fossil fuel infrastructure to clean and renewable energy in order to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045, while supporting impacted communities.

  • Opportunities for people to enjoy, explore, and preserve our natural places.

  • Smart growth that incorporates best practices, energy efficiency measures, protects natural hydrology, and champions native vegetation.
