The Prince George’s County Sierra Club Group comprises Sierra Club members who live in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Located just east of the District of Columbia on the ancestral lands of the Piscataway-Conoy and Anacostan people, the county includes parts of the Patuxent, Potomac, and Anacostia River watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay. We are a grassroots volunteer organization open to all and led by an Executive Committee elected by our members. We focus on local environmental issues, including county environmental legislation, climate action, waste reduction, land use, and transportation. We provide educational, social, and advocacy opportunities and outdoor experiences that promote our mission: Explore, Enjoy, and Protect Our Planet.

Join the Zero Waste Campaign: Help us in reducing waste at its source, increasing recycling and composting, reducing litter, and minimizing the need for landfills and incinerators in Prince George’s County. Contact: Martha Ainsworth (Martha.Ainsworth@mdsierra.org).
Advocate for Local Climate Action: Our Climate Action team meets virtually once a month to plan advocacy for implementation of our County Climate Action Plan and to plan community engagement events. All are welcome!
Become an outings leader: Sierra Club members over 18 years of Age can become outings leaders by taking the outings leader’s training (OLT 101), having first aid certification, and working with a mentor to develop necessary skills . Contact: Janet Gingold (janet.gingold@mdsierra.org).
