The transportation bill that passed in a special session at the legislature this year cut state funding for transit, but Sierra Club worked with allies to defend against other major threats to transit and climate policy. In particular, the coalition managed to fend off an effort to delay implementation of the "climate impact of highways" law; we sent a strong message that we cannot keep allowing highways and roads to expand with no regard for the climate damage they cause.
