Team Update - Clean Energy - November 2025

Clean Energy

The Public Utilities Commission approved the sale of Minnesota Power to Blackrock, a private-equity firm. While there is hope that Blackrock may invest in renewable energy for financial reasons, there is also the possibility of drastic budget cuts/higher charges down the line.

We discussed the use of nitrous oxide in fertilizers. Nitrous oxide produces more than 200 times the adverse effects of carbon dioxide. The team is looking for ways to respond—let us know if you are interested in volunteering for this effort, particularly members from rural areas.

We have also been approached about changing our name to “The Clean Energy and Resistance Team.” Our team has been active in addressing resistance, and this would formalize the role. Please share your thoughts.
