EV Basics
We’re a one car family. I mostly get around by bike, bus, train, and foot. We thought about replacing our old Subaru for years. Finally, on Earth Day, with gas prices skyrocketing, we made the switch: We sold our family car and bought a clean, inexpensive Electric Vehicle. We couldn’t be happier. Do you own an EV and have questions about how to use it?
Are you thinking about taking your first EV road trip, but feeling insecure?
Sierra Club offers free EV Basics workshops that are open to everyone. We cover:
- What to consider when purchasing an EV.
- How to charge for daily use, how to use DC fast chargers.
- How to plan for road trips.
The EV Basics workshop can be one or two sessions:
- At a venue convenient to you and your friends, congregation, school, or organization.
- At a DC fast charger (DCFC) for a hands-on experience.
National Drive Electric Month is a great opportunity to learn more, and offers you the chance to:
- Explore a wide variety of EV models through test drives, rides, and/or EV displays.
- Talk with real EV owners.
- Learn about charging at home and on the road.
- Get answers to all your questions.
Be sure to RSVP to allow event organizers to share important information and updates with you (for example, parking info or event changes due to weather).
