What is happening in the flood plain after the Columbia Bottom casino was stopped? Well, there is still activity going on with rezoning parcels of land as if someone is still planning on building in the flood plain. Yes for now all the casino licenses are gone but that means a number of applicants did not get a license and may try to get more voted on in the future.

We need to keep alert for any activities with the Commission and ballots to try and stop any further licenses from coming through. If the builders change the rules and get the casinos off the flood plains, then we will have to watch for a casino strip someplace in Missouri.

Also, regarding the demolition of the Admiral/President Casino..The ship was not in bad condition as some stated. Was this a ploy to get that one extra license free? I think we could have used the ship to cruise the confluence to Alton, St Charles and about. Wouldn't that have been a good use of the ol girl?
