After litigation, a court-ruling for revisions, and continuances due to negotiations with the California Attorney General, Moreno Valley's City Council will review and possibly approve their General Plan Update & Climate Action Plan at their Tuesday, April 21, meeting. Potentially finalizing the city's future for the next 15 years.
The Box Springs Group is encouraging all residents and stakeholders to join us at Moreno Valley's City Council Meeting this Tuesday, April 21st, at 6:00PM, Council Chambers (14177 Frederick Street, Moreno Valley, CA 92553).
The City Council will address the General Plan Update (GPU) and Climate Action Plan (CAP) as ITEM K.1 on their agenda.
This update will serve as the city's vision, policies, and land use designations through 2040. It covers a wide variety of topics including land use, economic development, circulation (sidewalks, roads, truck routes), parks and public services, environmental justice, etc. The GPU and CAP will impact generations to come so it is important that we show up and share how we would like for Moreno Valley to improve, grow, and develop in the upcoming years.
The Box Springs Group is requesting the city council to:
- RECIRCULATE THE ENTIRE GENERAL PLAN! Send it back to the Planning Commission for full-review! Allow a 45-day window for public feedback!
- Correct the ordinance! Honor the Attorney General's recommendation and place all setbacks for future developments to 1,000 feet from sensitive receptors!
If you can attend, please exercise your right and duty to make public comment! You can speak upwards of 3 minutes at the beginning of the meeting for items not on the agenda, and again when Item K.1: General Plan Update is brought up for consideration.
It would also be of great help if you could send a letter to the council or share this with anyone who would be interested in assisting the effort! Please click the blue button below to access an automated email template! Feel free to use this and add some flair! It only takes 10 seconds at the most! Thank you for your support!
