Thank you for being a Sierra Club member. If you’re not yet a member, consider join us here. You’ve chosen to be part of the ongoing work of protecting the natural land and life that lives on it. Now, we’d like you to help energize your local Central Iowa Group: join an outing, attend a meeting, or volunteer for one of the committees below! These are great ways to meet fellow members, promote specific areas of concern, and share your skills. Central Iowa Group Committees
We hope you enjoy our monthly meetings, outings, and newsletters. But these do not occur by themselves. It takes the participation of our membership. I invite you to consider joining a committee if you have not already done so. It only takes a few days per year.
Conservation: Identifies worthwhile areas needing protection and organizes donations or services.
Executive: Nine elected and/or appointed seats for two year terms to help steer the above committees.
Hospitality: Organizes treats for our monthly meetings.
Membership: Invites members to actively participate.
Outings: Promotes outdoor activities.
Political: Promotes the election of pro-environment candidates and raises awareness about environmental issues among the public and decision-makers.
Publicity: Contacts local media to update them about club activities.
Webmaster: Updates our website and social media.
