Washington, DC -- Tonight, in the midst of a Category 4 hurricane about to strike the Texas coast, Donald Trump signed a memo banning transgender people from serving in the military and pardoned Joe Arpaio.
In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:
“Donald Trump has made it abundantly clear that he stands with the racists who break the law rather than the brave Americans who seek to protect our country. No matter your race, creed, or gender identity, every person deserves equal protection under the law and equal rights. The president should serve as a moral compass for our country, but Donald Trump has proven to be nothing more than a magnet for hate and intolerance.”
