Seattle, WA-- On Saturday, Sierra Club organizers and several allies will rally in support of protection for public lands and Puget Sound. The event comes just days before Secretary Zinke’s national monument recommendations. A change in their designation status could put 27 of the country’s national monuments at risk of drilling, clear cutting and development. The event will focus on demonstrating Washingtonians overwhelming support for protecting their public lands, and will feature prominent voices from Congresswoman Jayapal’s office and Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s office. A representative from Patagonia will share perspectives from the outdoor industry on the value of preserving our national monuments and public land.
