Augusta County, VA -- Sierra Club organizers and various allies will join hands in resisting proposed Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley pipelines. The event will draw speakers from multiple public lands advocacy groups and Central Virginia residents who will stress the importance of public lands protections for our National scenic trails, wildlife and residents. A distinct photo opportunity includes the large crowd joining hands along the proposed pipeline route, revealing the community’s serious concerns about losing protection for our scenic National Trails and National Parks.

The event coincides with Secretary Zinke’s upcoming national monument status recommendations which will be released within the next week. A shift in their statuses puts 27 national monuments at risk of drilling, clearcutting and development.

When: Saturday, August 19 at  10:30 a.m.
