San Antonio, TX -- Today, the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Jessica Cisneros for Congress in Texas’ 28th Congressional District. The Sierra Club endorsed Cisneros in the 2020 election as well.

“Jessica Cisneros’ has demonstrated she not only has the bold vision necessary to hold the fossil fuel industry accountable, but a plan for how we advance our community and the country in a clean energy economy,” said Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter Director Dave Cortez. “Cisneros is the leader we need who will put our community and our future above fossil fuel executives and those seeking to use influence to corrupt power.”

A Texas native, Cisneros has consistently touted and advocated for the need to address the climate crisis through bold legislative action, recognizing the significant benefits clean energy and clean transportation jobs have and can continue to be for the district.

“The people of Texas 28th deserve to be represented by a leader who prioritizes the people and their future,” said Sierra Club Acting Political Director Sarah Burton. “Jessica Cisneros is the candidate who the people of Texas can count on to do exactly that, which is why the Sierra Club is proud to endorse her for Congress.”

The Sierra Club will again mobilize its members and supporters to elect Jessica to Congress.
