Reno, NV – Today, the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Jacky Rosen for US Senate for Nevada in the 2024 election.
"We are pleased to announce today that the Sierra Club officially endorses Senator Jacky Rosen for re-election," said Tracy Puckett, Nevada Political Committee Co-Chair. "We are confident that she will continue to work to protect Nevada families’ health, air and water, and build a clean energy economy that works for the Battle Born State.”
Our climate and environment are in crisis. It is more important than ever to elect champions like Senator Rosen who will prioritize our communities and our future. Senator Rosen helped write and pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, which includes funding for clean drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, and electric vehicle and rural broadband infrastructure. She also strongly supported the IRA, the largest investment in clean energy and climate action ever.
Additionally, Senator Rosen has been instrumental in preserving our public lands by introducing or supporting several bills that conserve over 1 million acres in Nevada, including Avi Kwa Ame National Monument, Swamp Cedars (Bahsahwahbee) National Monument, the Washoe Lands Bill, and the Ruby Mountains Protections Act.
"We are deeply grateful to Senator Rosen for leading the years-long fight in Congress against solar tariffs. She took on both parties to fight against retroactive tariffs that would kill Nevada solar jobs, raise energy costs, and harm our path to clean energy independence,” said Bari Levinson, Nevada Political Committee Co-Chair. "She is a true environmental champion who will fight to protect Nevada’s clean air, clean water, our climate and natural treasures."
Along with the endorsement, the Sierra Club will lend its volunteer strength to Senator Rosen’s campaign.
"We pledge to do all we can to help ensure Senator Rosen is re-elected," said Teresa Bell, Volunteer Coordinator for Toiyabe Chapter. "Sierra Club volunteers will contact voters on her behalf and we will speak to the public as often as possible about her exemplary environmental record. We look forward to a victory for Jacky Rosen on election night and to her continued fight for the environment as a U.S. Senator."
