Reno, NV – Today, the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Susie Lee for the US House of Representatives for Nevada’s Third Congressional District in the 2024 election.
"We are pleased to announce today that the Sierra Club officially endorses Representative Susie Lee for re-election," said Tracy Puckett, Nevada Political Committee Co-Chair. “We are confident that she will continue to work across the aisle to create legislation that protects Nevada’s wild lands while supporting a clean energy economy.”
Sierra Club appreciates Susie Lee’s tireless bipartisan efforts for the benefit of Nevadans and our environment.
Lee supported legislation that expedites the permitting process for residential renewable solar energy systems; legislation that fast-tracks geothermal exploration and development; legislation that helps prevent Yucca Mountain from becoming the nation’s nuclear dumping ground; and legislation to prevent speculative oil and gas leasing, saving public lands and tax payer dollars.
Representative Lee has worked to introduce and promote legislation that protects Nevada’s water supply, including preserving the Las Vegas Wash and introducing bipartisan legislation to get critical water use data into the hands of farmers, ranchers and decision makers for improved water management across the west. She has secured millions of dollars for local water projects.
“As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I really appreciate Representative Lee’s passion to protect and boost the outdoor recreation industry and expand access to our beautiful public lands, including developing long distance biking trails,” said Bari Levinson, Nevada Political Committee Co-Chair.
Along with the endorsement, the Sierra Club will lend its volunteer strength to Representative Lee's campaign.
"We pledge to do all we can to help ensure Representative Lee is re-elected," said Teresa Bell, Volunteer Coordinator for Toiyabe Chapter. "Sierra Club volunteers will contact voters on her behalf and we will speak to the public as often as possible about her exemplary environmental record.
