Missoula, MT - Today, a coalition of conservation groups participated in the first day of a three-day meeting held by the U.S. Forest Service intended to reach a resolution on objections the agency received in response to the highly-controversial revised Nez Perce-Clearwater Land Management Plan, also known as a Forest Plan. At the meeting, conservationists decried the agency’s failure to offer meaningful changes in response to the unprecedented level of public participation demanding the revised plan better safeguard wildlife and habitat.

WYALUSING, Pa. -- Late Friday, in response to data requests from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Delaware River Partners and Bradford County Real Estate Partners confirmed that they do not intend to cancel their Wyalusing liquefaction facility and Gibbstown export facility, despite the U.S. Department of Transportation decision last September to suspend authorization to transport LNG by rail car. The Wyalusing and Gibbstown facilities are part of a logistically and financially connected LNG export project contemplated by New Fortress Energy.

The Federal Trade Commission has uncovered efforts by former CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources Scott Sheffield to collude with OPEC in order to increase the price of oil through agreed up cuts in production. The conduct was discovered as part of an investigation into the $64 billion acquisition of Pioneer by Exxon Mobil, which FTC says it will not reject as long as Sheffield is not named to the board.

PENNSYLVANIA -- Today, Senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman jointly announced that the US Air Force and National Guard Bureau canceled their plans to create the Duke Low Military Operations Area (MOA), where pilots were expected to train with fighter jets as low as 100 feet above the ground, up to two hours daily, for as many as 170 days per year, including nights and weekends. The Duke MOA was slated to take place over a large portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds, well known for areas such as the Cherry Springs State Park, an internationally recognized Dark Sky Park, and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The Wilds are widely used by residents from across the region for hiking and recreation and are home to the largest elk herd in the northeast United States.
