Jared Leto Narrates a Virtual Tour of the Arctic

Float through icy Arctic waterways, stand inside a dripping glacier, and visit a community about to lose its ancestral home to erosion, all before you’ve had your morning coffee.

Today the Sierra Club, in collaboration with the Environmental Media Association and RYOT, is launching an immersive virtual reality video that takes you on an Arctic tour in order to drive home the impact of climate change. It’s the closest you’ll get to this fragile ecosystem without actually going there. The video is narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto, whose velvety voice might be making the glaciers you see in the video melt a little faster. The virtual reality technology is cutting-edge, but you just need your smartphone to watch (desktop viewing works too, but not to the same effect).

What You Can Do

When you’re done watching, sign the ActinParis petition asking world leaders to take meaningful action when they meet in two months to hash out a plan to address climate change.
