Communications with CNNY Group Members

Communication

The CNNY Group is thinking about the best ways to share information with you, as a Group member, about Group activities and issues. We also welcome hearing from you about issues and interests important to you. We welcome thoughts from you about what are the most helpful and effective ways to communicate (email, print, Group site, etc.), and are sharing a few communication-related tips below.

How to adjust Group communication settings, and get the most out of your membership
When you join the Sierra Club, you are automatically added to contact lists from the Chapter and Group closest to your address. You can adjust what you receive by changing settings after logging into your Sierra Club account. The CNNY Group has a My Account login on the Central-Northern NY Group site, as well as a My Account FAQ. After you click on My Account, you are prompted to log in via an existing account or create a new one.
•    After logging in to your account, scroll down to Manage Your Account and select Communication Preferences. You can select whether to receive items online or in print, as well as what basic types of items you want to receive (or not).
•    Within the above page, if you click on Manage email preferences, you will see options for turning on/off what you would and would not like to receive.
•    A More ways to stay up to date section lower on the page allows for seeing Your current local subscriptions and offers options to receive information about other localities. Scroll down to see the Save preferences button at the end of the list.
•    Please note: You will not receive mailings if your membership is not up to date.

If your address has changed:  You can update your address online, by selecting My Account, and then Change your contact information.

Questions: If you have questions about adjusting what you receive, please let us know by sending a message to: cnny-group@newyork.sierraclub.org. Contact information for the national office is also provided on these pages.

Getting involved: Aside from making the above personal selections, the best way to get something out of your membership is to be involved. Please contact Rhea Jezer, rjezer@gmail.com, if you are interested in working with the CNNY Group. If you are interested in participating at the Chapter level, visit the Atlantic Chapter site and fill out a  Volunteer with the Sierra Club Atlantic (NY) Chapter form.

Information for non-members:  If you are not a member, but want to opt in to receive occasional notices about CNNY group activities, please let us know by sending a message to: cnny-group@newyork.sierraclub.org.

Thank you for your interest in the Sierra Club!
