Welcome TRUE Mentors of Hoboken! After adjusting plans due to rain, we headed out on Sunday November 14 for a hike at South Mountain Reservation in Millburn, NJ, only a short drive from Hoboken. This was the first trip for this group, and included 12 kids ranging from age 8 to 14, along with 5 adults from TRUE Mentors and 2 ICO volunteers. The group enjoyed looking at the wide variety of fallen leaves as we hiked up the mountain. We enjoyed lunch at the top, then ventured down to the Fairy Trail where we explored fairy houses that have been built to encourage a love of exploring in nature for kids! Everyone enjoyed finding the sometimes hidden houses, and peeking in to see their different features. The hike ended up near the river and mill pond where we played around for a bit, then hiked back to the van. Overall it was a successful and beautiful fall day of fun!
