Over the past four years, our dedicated volunteers, Steering Committee, and staff across Colorado have achieved remarkable wins -- protecting public lands, advancing climate justice, and protecting wildlife.
Building on this solid foundation, we are thrilled to share an exciting update on our organizational structure. Based on feedback from our volunteer leaders and members we are shifting our organizational structure to streamline administration, reduce bureaucratic burdens on volunteers, and put more energy directly into grassroots powerbuilding and local conservation work across Colorado.
We have three transitions we are implementing in the next few months:
- Transitioning Groups to Networks: Empowering local teams to focus on community advocacy and issue priorities with direct access to Chapter funding and resources. Network Operating Procedures
- Creating a Network Advisory Committee (NAC): Giving our local Networks a direct voice in shaping statewide priorities and facilitating cross-state collaboration.
- Realigning Conservation & Strategic Priorities: We are establishing a dedicated Programs Committee to coordinate climate, energy, land, water, wildlife, political, and legislative programs. De-siloing our programmatic work and to elevate it into a strategic space to help us build power and make stronger and more impactful programs.
We invite you to review these working documents and reach out with any questions at colorado.chapter@sierraclub.org. Share your insights and help us maximize our collective impact for environmental protections across Colorado.
Thank you to our members and supporters across the state and a special thank you to our volunteers, their ongoing passion, leadership, and commitment to building a strong Sierra Club Chapter here in Colorado that is more connected and impactful to deliver on our mission to explore, enjoy, and protect Colorado.
