Welcome to the Bluegrass Group

The Bluegrass Group is the local affiliate of the Sierra Club in Central Kentucky, sponsoring activities to inform Sierra Club members and the general public about local, regional, state, and national environmental issues. We provide many opportunities to meet, greet and talk about issues and environmental activism (see the Get Involved page), as well as get outdoors to experience what Kentucky has to offer.

Bluegrass August General Meeting

Monday, August 19, 2024 @ 7:00pm

This presentation will include an overview of several ways to keep your plants safe from pests, how to safely choose and use a pesticide/fungicide in the event of a serious outbreak, and an introduction to beneficial insects and pests. Our presenter is Mary Spraggs, a life long gardener and owner of Good Thyme Farm, who chooses to prioritize pesticide-free gardening practices to keep her honeybees safe and create a safe place for other insects while still being able to maintain a productive garden.
