These days, it seems like nothing can make it through congress and folks in DC are moving at a snail's pace. Yet, the threat of climate change is upon us and the urgent need for bold action is clear. Sierra Club is determined to not let inaction continue to be the norm.
Through the National Climate Legacy Campaign, the Sierra Club is urging the president to use his administrative authority to curb climate change within his first 100 days of his second term.
The Club has laid out a series of actions that he can do right now, without agreement in the House and Senate, that would lead our country on this issue. In January, the club kicked off the campaign by meeting with allies, collecting letters to send to Obama, as well as sharing personal climate change stories.
In February, Sierra Club members are encouraged to write to Senator McCaskill and meet with their local congressional leaders. In March, on the 27th at 7:00pm we will hold a "climate conversation" community forum in South St. Louis County at the Cliff Cave Library. The campaign will culminate with an action centered around Earth Day.
