Living in a house with six people, energy efficiency can be a challenge. I decided to take that challenge so you don't have to. I started by making a list of all the light fixtures in our home and made a spreadsheet to determine how much money we could save just by switching out the light bulbs in our common spaces from incandescent to CFL light bulbs.
I learned we were able to invest only $50 in new light bulbs and make our money back in less than six months.
I would encourage all Sierra Club members to switch to CFL or LED lightbulbs in your home. The benefits to your wallet and the environment are worth the investment. Take advantage of the Ameren Rebates and pick up an energy saving power strip at the same time! https://www.ameren.com/missouri/uefficiency
