The Gateway has sponsored Drive Electric Earth Day events in Montclair for the past two years, partnering with Montclair Climate Action. Our first event was in 2022 and we attracted over 20 electric vehicle owners and hundreds of attendees who were eager to learn about electric vehicles.
Drive Electric Day Montclair 2023: Our drive electric Earth Day display this April was a great success. We partnered with the Northeast Earth Coalition, Montclair Climate Action, and Greenfaith. Over 25 vehicles and their owners participated. The vehicles included high-end BMW’s and Polestars, pickups such as a Ford F150 and a number of Rivians, and numerous Chevy Bolts, Teslas, and Kia Ioniq’s. HA DeHart brought an electric school bus, and Diamond Cycle in Montclair brought a truckload of ebikes to test drive and view.
The display attracted Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill, Essex County Commissioner At-Large Brendan Gill, and NJDEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourette.
