Join the WNC Sierra Club for a discussion with Climate Interactive's Executive Director Andrew Jones.

In this dynamic presentation, Jones will share his top 10 reasons to be hopeful for the climate. Touching on his experiences attending climate conferences and his conversations with global leaders, his session will include a demonstration of the team’s free, open-source climate simulator, En-ROADS.

About Our Presenter

A co-founder of Climate Interactive and a research affiliate at MIT Sloan, Jones is an expert on international climate and energy policy, a system dynamics modeler, and a creator of policy simulations.

Jones  led the teams at Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan that developed En-ROADS and C-ROADS, two climate simulators used widely to engage global decision-makers. His climate policy work has appeared in media outlets such as The New York Times and The Washington Post.

Trained in modeling through degrees from MIT and Dartmouth College, He now teaches systems thinking and climate policy at MIT Sloan, Stanford, and UNC-Chapel Hill.

Jones lives with his family in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina.

Before the Feb. 5 program, please click on unca.aimsparking.com to sign up for your free one-day parking permit for UNCA. If you forget to register ahead of time, there is a computer at the Reuter Center that you can use the night of the event. (Note: If you are an OLLI member, your existing parking pass will be enough.)

The parking permit is free, but failing to register could lead to a fine. Don't back into a parking space as your license plate must be visible.
