April 18 Rainbow Road Trail Hike in Montreat

Come join us for this moderate loop hike in the lower valley of Montreat just North of Black Mountain.  The loop is 2.2 miles in length with gently sloping uphill sections at the beginning, and then a steeper decent down the first part of the shared Lookout Mountain trail for an elevation gain of just around 400 feet.   We'll meet in Black Mountain at 9:00am with a goal to be on the trail at 9:30am.  Due to limited trailhead parking, this hike is limited to 10 participants.  Carpooling will be encouraged.  No dogs on the hike.   

Bring snacks, plenty of water, and sturdy hiking shoes.  We'll be off the trail in time for lunch.   Hiking poles are encouraged, especially on the steep descent towards the end.  Parts of the trail may be muddy.
