Join us for this scenic 3.9-mile hike along the Rattlesnake Lodge section of the Mountain-to-Sea Trail in Ox Creek. The trail is a moderate out-and-back trail that has excellent mountain views for most of the hike, and a sheltered loop through a forest of mountain laurels.

Hike Details

• Trail: Rattlesnake Lodge Trail (Ox Creek) 
• Date: Saturday, February 28, 2028
• Start time: 9am EST
• Difficulty: Moderate, with minimal elevation change.
• Duration: Approximately 2-2.5 hours at a relaxed pace, including breaks.
• Highlights: Unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains and a lovely forest of mountain laurels.

What to Bring

• At least 1–2 liters of water
• Snacks
• Sturdy hiking boots/shoes 
• Layers suitable for winter weather (layers, hat, gloves).
• Hiking poles are always encouraged for stability and comfort.
• Rain gear is always recommended, regardless of forecast.

• If you are feeling unwell or have a fever, please do not attend.
• Families are welcome. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
• Dogs are permitted but must remain on leash and be well-behaved.

• Extreme winter conditions and steady rain cancels.
