Join WNC Sierra Club for a beautiful hike in Rocky Fork State Park just over the border in Tennessee on Tuesday, Sept. 15. We will follow a beautiful stream trail out and back for a total of about 5 miles with about 900 feet of elevation gain on this moderate hike. The cascades and small waterfalls in the stream nestled in the beautiful forest are stunning. There is also a national historic site here we will visit along the way.
We will meet to carpool in Asheville at 9:00 a.m. and should be back around 3:30 p.m. Be sure to bring snacks/lunch, and water. Some folks may like trekking poles. Rain gear is always a good idea regardless of the forecast. If anyone is feeling sick, and/or has a fever, they should not attend this outing. Families are welcome! Any children should be accompanied and supervised by parents or other adult family members. Dogs will not be allowed on this hike.
