Sierra Club Has Endorsed Doug Ross For Pennsylvania House District 92. Here’s Why ...

The Sierra Club is proud to endorse Doug Ross, Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania House District 92, in the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020.

Doug will be a passionate advocate for clean water, clean air and clean energy. He believes that ensuring that we all have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink now, and for future generations, is an essential issue that impacts everyone, and that government has the responsibility to look out for us in this regard. To that end, he feels it is important to address climate change in his campaign.

Doug is concerned that per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a persistent environmental contaminant, has been found in the Newberry Township’s drinking water, and wants to find an affordable way to make water testing available to residents.

He believes that once solar and wind power are allowed to become cheaper than fossil fuels, the need for coal and natural gas will be eliminated, and that alternative energy will eradicate other issues like proliferation of pipelines, methane gas release, and fracking. He looks forward to a time when every roof in Pennsylvania will support solar panels.

Candidate Doug Ross

Doug is challenging Republican Dawn Keefer, who is running for a third term, and who has a lifetime environmental score of 4.

Doug is an entrepreneur and business owner, and currently serves as the president of the Newberry Business Association and as president of Friends of the Red Land Community Library. He is also a founding member of the Northern York Democratic Club. While running as a Democrat, Doug believes that we should have as much freedom as possible and that the government should not interfere, except when people need it. Doug is a firm believer in a strong social safety net, as many of us stumble at times and need some help to get over the bumps that life puts in our way.

We hope you will join the members of the Sierra Club in lending your influence and expertise to the Ross campaign. The only way we can get good candidates elected is to dedicate some of our time and hard work to supporting their efforts.
