The Sierra Club is proud to endorse Brittney Rodas, Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania House District 105, in the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020.
Brittney has a great understanding of those who struggle to keep food on the table because she grew up in a family that needed food stamps. She has seen first-hand how climate change – and the use of fossil fuels, which causes it – has disproportionately affected marginalized communities. That is why her top priorities include addressing climate change, increasing the use of alternative energy, and achieving social justice.
Brittney worked her way through school to achieve a Master’s in Public Administration and now is a policy and research analyst for the Pennsylvania State House. In 2019, she took over as South Central Region Director for PA Young Dems.
As Brittney campaigns, she hears concerns about stormwater, river pollution, and overdevelopment of a district that used to have huge swaths of green. Brittany lives with her husband Bryan and two children in West Hanover Township. When Brittney thinks of her children’s future, she looks for a time when higher education and health care are affordable for all, when workers can afford their household bills, and where children have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.

Brittney is challenging first-term Republican incumbent Andrew Lewis, who has an Environmental Scorecard rating of zero percent. When he was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this year, he was accused of keeping his Democratic colleagues in the dark about his illness. He has a conservative rating of 100 percent and is a climate change denier.
We strongly encourage all Sierra Club members to use your influence with their friends, neighbors and relatives to support Brittney’s campaign with your time, talents and money. Working together to elect better legislators is not only a great way to build community but also the only way to get candidates to represent all of us.
