Topic: The Push for Zero Waste Nashville

Learn the latest about Metro’s recycling and waste disposal programs. Featured speakers are Jenn Harrman, Administrative Services Manager for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and Abby Kimmel, who works on community outreach and education for the Nashville Department of Waste Services.

Harrman and Kimmel will share how Metro is working to mitigate the environmental impacts of waste disposal, and clarify how and where to recycle. Landfills contribute significantly to climate change by producing large amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, through the anaerobic decomposition of organic waste within them.
