Curbside Yard Waste Collection Resumes

The City of Houston (COH) resumed curbside yard waste collections in early January.  This is the yard waste, such as leaves and grass trimmings, that is to be bagged in biodegradable bags and set out at the curb on one's regular trash pick up day.  This yard waste collection had been suspended after Hurricane Harvey. One can also set out small branches tied up in appropriate sized bundles (see details). The yard waste collected in this program is intended for composting.

If you are not familiar with the details for the yard waste collection, below is a link to recent City of Houston curbside guidelines.  Details for the yard waste program are at the bottom of the first page:

Note: this Yard Waste Collection is different from the monthly Tree/Junk Waste pickups. That monthly Tree/Junk Waste pickup is still suspended.
