Are you ready for action? Good! We are organizing the Sierra Club's Lobby Day at the Texas Capitol on April 11, 2019.
Come be part of the good, the bad, and the ugly otherwise known as.... Lobby Day! Spend your day with the Lone Star Chapter under the state capitol dome in Austin, and get firsthand experience of what it's like to be an environmental lobbyist. If it is your first time joining us, please do not be concerned, as your passion and willingness to meet with legislators will make you a successful lobbyist.
Each of you will play a crucial role in our efforts, because the conversations that you have on lobby day will help Sierra Club and our environmental partners determine those legislators that we need to reach prior to our bills coming to a vote. You can see some of the things were working on this year at the legislative page of our website.
Our official Lobby Day is on Thursday, April 11, but given the proximity to our Executive Committee meeting and Annual Environmental Awards Dinner, we are also offering the morning of Friday, April 12, so you can make a weekend of it in Austin if you plan to attend the festivities. You are welcome to join for one or both lobby day options, however, please note that we are ending at noon on Friday as the majority of legislators leave for the weekend. If you are interested in sharing a ride with another participant, we will put you in touch with each other so that you can sort out the particulars about leave times and pickup locations.
