May 13 Program Topic:
Artist Boat's Galveston Coastal Heritage Preserve and Environmental Education

Join Karla Klay, Executive Director of Artist Boat, to learn about Artist Boat's 17 year long quest to bring thousands of youth outdoors to provide inspiration and environmental education through unique coastal experiences, and their effort to expand the Coastal Heritage Preserve on West Galveston Island. With their new campaign to "Be One In A Million", Artist Boat hopes to engage 1,000,000 people in land conservation in the next two years with a simple act of donating $10. These funds will be used to bring the last great place on Galveston Island into full protection and the Preserve from 700 to 1,400 acres.
