Featured February Program: Benefits of Solar, Wind and Battery Storage

On February 13, Rachel Rothman from Environment Texas, will talk about the benefits of solar, wind, and battery storage. She will include details about the campaign’s work, particularly regarding the legislative challenges in Texas that threaten the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure. These challenges are critical to understanding the current landscape and what’s at stake.

Solar and wind provide renewable power to the Texas grid. Battery storage can strengthen the grid by balancing supply and demand effectively, particularly when other renewables are not producing energy because it’s dark and the wind isn’t blowing. Battery power can come quickly online to balance the grid, as needed.

Rachel Rothman studied Sustainability Studies with a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. In addition to sustainability, she has also worked on weatherization and wildlife rehabilitation.

Join us on February 13 for this informative and interesting meeting!
