Meet the Sturgeon Protectors on March 18

Come hear Mark Denning and Cheryl Nenn discuss their work with Milwaukee's Sturgeon Protectors on March 18.

Mark Denning is a member of Sturgeon Clan enrolled in the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin, whose ancestry includes Menominee, Mille Lacs Ojibwe, Stockbridge-Munsee, French, and English.

Cheryl Nenn is the longtime riverkeeper with Milwaukee Riverkeeper. 

They are instrumental in this volunteer group organizing around lake sturgeon education in Milwaukee as sturgeon reintroduction efforts start to show evidence of sturgeon return, coupled with fish passage projects supported by Waterway Restoration Partnership. 

Sturgeon Protectors is expected to ramp up public and youth education efforts into the coming years.
