Thank you for your interest in the Sierra Club Atlantic (NY) Chapter! At the Sierra Club, our power comes from the grassroots. With over 3 million supporters nationally and almost 250,000 in New York State alone, we rely on our people power. Here are some activities volunteers have done in the past:
- Organized locally around climate issues
- Virtually led meetings, fundraisers, trainings, etc.
- Lobbied on legislation at the NYS Capitol as well as in-district offices
- Written articles, blog posts, and persuasive writing
- Worked for Sierra Club's endorsed candidates
- Gave presentations on environmental and energy issues
- Acted as a Sierra Club liaison in coalitions
