The Prairie Group of the Illinois Chapter of the Sierra Club covers twelve counties in east-central Illinois.  A seven-member executive committee meets regularly to discuss and organize conservation and lobbying activities, outings, and events.  Our approximately 900 members stay apprised of Group activities and politics via the website, Facebook, our newsletter, and the Alerts listserv.  The Group's conservation priorities include protecting the Mahomet Aquifer from contaminants, ending the use of coal, and creating more open space and natural habitats.  If you would like to be more involved in the Sierra Club, please contact us (scprairiegroup01 {at} gmail.com)!

Newsletter:  Find our latest (April, 2015) newsletter here.    Or, December, or August, or April, 2014.

We have a monthly booth at the Urbana Farmer's Market (third Saturdays), and run Sierra Club's weekly radio program on WEFT-FM (90.1 MHz, Tuesdays at 5:30PM).

E-mail listserves
