The Sierra Club is enthusiastic in its endorsement of Rep. Laurie Jinkins. She is by far the strongest candidate running for this House position. She is a non-practicing attorney who has been the Deputy Director of the Tacoma-Pierce Co. Health Dept. for several years. She has become a leader in the House on health and human rights issues and has has shown her concern for the environment, particularly those issues that are directly connected to human health such as air pollution. In 2013 she introduced HB1233, which would add health to the list of state transportation policy goals. Though the bill did not quite pass out of the House, it likely will be revisited in the 2015 Session. Her environmental voting record is stellar. Vote for Jinkins.
