Local Climate Action

Local Climate Action - join the Climate Crew

Climate is the number one issue in our region; the overarching issue so many of you are concerned about. Help create the changes that will build clean, just and resilient communities across our region.

Roof top solar installationDane County, Madison, Middleton and Monona all have ambitious climate goals to reduce our carbon footprint, but plans are not worth their words unless they are implemented. And we need to be active throughout our nine counties to bring about positive changes to reduce greenhouse gases, grow the green economy and make our communities more resilient.

That’s where you come in! There are many different opportunities to get active including

  • working to make gains in clean energy, transportation, jobs, and equity;
  • planning and participating in activities like forums, house parties, workshops and cool outings;
  • showing up and lobbying  at local government meetings and hearings;
  • amplifying the reach of our communication through letters to the editor, social media, creating materials, and engaging people.

We have a place for you and your ideas to create change in your backyard. The time is now! And we need you to get on board with the Climate Crew.

When we meet

First Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 7 PM either in person or by conference call/video during the “safer at home” order.

Sign up for the Climate Crew HERE. At this time (May 2021), we are not meeting regularly. But if you have a project or activity that addresses the local climate crisis, please contact the Four Lakes Group. We would love to hear your ideas and help build an action to create change!
