A Community Solar project is a group of solar panels installed in a sunny location by a solar developer. Consumers in the area can access the clean energy produced by the panels. This makes solar available to many more people who may have not been able to access solar before: not only homeowners, but renters, condo dwellers, small and large businesses, non-profits, churches and other institutions.
And there’s a 10% discount. Energy is delivered to the consumer by the utility the same way it always has been. No fees, no termination penalty.
