There will be a rally in Geneva on Sunday September 21 (the fall equinox) from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center (35 Lake Front Drive). It is co-sponsored by Seneca Lake Guardian and Indivisible Hector Schuyler County. Its goal is to, "establish unity and agency among those of us concerned about climate issues, clean air and water, and (communicate) how our elected leaders are falling short in protecting the FLX from predatory, polluting corporations that exploit our clear air, water, and way of life for private financial gain."

Indivisible's web page states that, "This event will focus on the urgent need to address a number of pressing environmental threats that are putting the beautiful Finger Lakes region at risk, including the ongoing harms from Greenidge Generation, a gas powered cryptomining facility, and the Seneca Meadows landfill, the largest landfill in New York that is at capacity and applying to expand its footprint by 47 acres and continue operations for 15 years. New threats on Cayuga Lake are developing too."

Furthermore, Indivisible states that, "We will be calling on New York’s elected leaders to stand with us, including Lieutenant Governor Delgado, in defending New York’s climate law, blocking corporate polluters from making our home their wasteland, and protecting the Finger Lakes’ natural resources and economic vitality."

They are planning a brief press conference at the gazebo in front of the Welcome Center and then will walk over to the street for a honk and wave. They advised that, "signs should reflect your feelings/concerns about the environment... protecting Seneca Lake from damage caused by Greenidge, the issues of enlarging an already horrific landfill at Seneca Meadows, air pollution issues caused by Greenidge, etc."

Finally, "A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values."
