Sierra Club Endorses Mira Tanna for Orlando City Council

ORLANDO, Fla. – Sierra Club is proud to announce its endorsement of Mira Tanna for Orlando City Council District 3 in the upcoming runoff election on December 9, 2025.

“I’m thrilled with the Sierra Club’s endorsement of our campaign to create a more equitable, sustainable, and culturally vibrant Orlando. There are many ways of being an environmentalist. I started riding the bus because it was one tiny thing that I could do to live a more sustainable lifestyle. This tiny action helped me understand all the benefits of public transit that we are missing and the opportunities we have to create transportation alternatives that are viable for every person in Orlando. When we invest in public transit, we’ll reduce traffic congestion, improve public health, help working families, and protect our planet for future generations.” –Mira Tanna, Candidate for Orlando City Council

"Candidate Mira Tanna's work experience with the City of Orlando provides her with the knowledge to understand local residents' needs, as well as the leadership skills to plan for an expanded sustainable future that includes affordable housing, mass transit options, improving water quality, and renewable energy for all." –Marjorie Holt, Political Chair, Sierra Club Central Florida Group

The future of Orlando is at stake in this election, and we believe that Mira Tanna is the best candidate to help achieve a brighter, cleaner, and healthier future for our city.
