The following is a list of local environmental organizations

Environmental Eduction Providers is a consortium of  non-profit organizations, government agencies, universities, public school educators and administrators from Miami-Dade County, who share a common interest in providing environmental education to our community. 

350.org is a global climate movement with the goal of reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 400 ppm to below 350 ppm. (350.org South Florida is the local chapter)

 

Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition is dedicated to preserving the remaining critically endangered 2% of the original 180,000 acres of pine rocklands in Miami-Dade County.

Biscayne Bay Waterkeeper is a Miami-based nonprofit organization that advocates for Biscayne Bay, its watershed, and its wildlife.

 

Everglades Law Center is is a nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to preserving the natural landscape of Florida.

 

LivableCutler is dedicated to preserving the natural areas and green spaces that make the living good along Old Cutler Road in South Miami-Dade County.

Tropical Audubon Society is a non-profit tax-exempt organization that is a chapter of Audubon Of Florida and the National Audubon Society.

 Institute for Regional Conservation

A private non-profit organization, The Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and long-term management of biodiversity on a regional basis, and to the prevention of regional extinctions of rare plants, animals and ecosystems. 

Miami Blue butterfly

The Miami Blue Chapter of the North American Butterfly Association is located in southeast Florida and named after one of our rarest butterflies.

Bat Communication Lab

Bat Communication Lab and the Miami Bat Squad. We are interested in the evolution of vocal complexity. Our goal is to add bats as a comparative model (to humans) to better understand the production and evolution of vocal complexity, including human speech.  

Friends of Ludlam Trail

The Friends of the Ludlam Trail is a non-profit coalition dedicated to the implementation of the Ludlam Trail, a 6.2-mile linear park through the heart of Miami-Dade County within the partially abandoned Florida East Coast railway right-of-way.
