After this long break, we need to rebuild our local Outing Program if you are interested in helping out please reach out to Ben. A note from Ben:

Dear fellow past or aspiring Sierra Club friends and members,

This note is for YOU if you are interested in helping re-start local outings. Maybe you have only "participated" in outings planned and lead by leaders in the past, but now we need new leadership to get things going again.

It’s been almost forever since our Outings program has been active, but it is now time to come out of hibernation and get things going again. So I am contacting you to find out if you are interested in becoming an active outings leader to support the Suncoast Group outings program. I hope that we can get outings going for the Suncoast Group, but we will need members like you to step forward to make that happen. If you are not in the Suncoast Group, please get with your Group's outings chair to get involved. If you don't know who that is, just ask me.

Just before the pandemic resulted in closing down all Sierra Club face-to-face activities we were in the process of getting training for new [and old] leaders to support the Suncoast Group program. That was poor timing since it was nipped in the bud and never happened. But now we are ready to make a push again to get that needed training, but first, we need to again recruit our leaders and see who wishes to get trained and support future outings. I will be the POC for recruiting Suncoast Outings Leaders, so get back to me if you are interested or willing to help in getting the program going again.

Outings Participation Agreement

In order to participate in one of the Sierra Club's Outings, you will need to sign a participation agreement. To review prior to the outing, email program.safety@sierraclub.org or find it here.

You may join our TampaBay Sierra Outings Listserv to get weekly "just-in-time" notices of outings planned in our area by our local Sierra Club Groups.
