The Sierra Club supports the 2023 Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act (BFFPPA), which includes a range of measures including a moratorium on plastic production, a nationwide container deposit bill, bans on certain plastic products (including bags, foam, black plastic, straws) and toxic substances, and incentives for reusable foodware. This bill could be the basis for related stand-alone bills. The Sierra Club also endorsed the original 2021 BFFPPA.
