Statewide/Remote
Text Outreach
- Opportunity: Help us send texts to our subscribing members and supporters for events and action opportunities! This opportunity involves spending ~10-20 min sending text messages out through the app Hustle and responding to people the following few days as they reply, giving them information about the event/action and answering questions.
- In-person or remote: Remote
- Skills needed: Comfortability sending texts, using a phone & new apps
- Training needed: Brief 1-hour training & practice with Sierra Club staff
- Time commitment: 1-2 hours/month

Outings Leader
- Opportunity: Help lead outdoor events (anything from hikes and camping trips to outdoor painting classes and caving excursions—whatever you love to do!) to get folks outside and engaged with the nature and community all around us.
- In-person or remote: Remote
- Skills needed: Love working with people, skills appropriate to the activity you’re leading (ex. Hiking, camping, etc.)
- Training needed: Sierra Club Outings Leader Training (approx 3 hours online), basic first aid/CPR training
- Time commitment: Varies depending on your capacity. Most leaders lead 1-2 Outings a year, but you're welcome to lead more if it fits with your schedule.

Treasure Valley
Ongoing: data entry & follow-up
- Opportunity: After each Sierra Club community event (approx. 2-4/month), come into our office to input sign-ups into our Sierra Club systems and send follow-up emails to all new sign-ups. This is incredibly helpful for getting new folks engaged in our work promptly!
- Location: Idaho Sierra Club office (downtown Boise)
- Skills needed: Basic computer skills.
- Training needed: 30-minute training with Sierra Club staff, then guided practice
- Time commitment: Approx. 2-3 hours/month
